Cheap Fun

Well, I know New York had all kinds of opportunities like this, but I never really took much advantage... somehow I managed to miss most of it.. but here in Seoul, I've found quite a few free/cheap nights out.

If you dare to venture to the army-laden area of itaewon, on Thursday and Friday nights you can drink... ABSOLUTELY FREE at the Loft (ladies only). It's a bit garbage, but you can't beat the FREE in ladies' night.

Also, the Intercontinental Hotel--not the ritzy one, but the other Intercontinental that's attached to COEX Mall--has a W20,000 ($20 or less) all you can drink wine bar with unlimited, free (and quite delicious) appetizers. Fun with a big group, we ventured out (accidentally went to the wrong hotel... quickly corrected our mistake), and sauced up on delicious vino. Other options were sangria or champagne.. probably white wine too, but I didn't notice. They were serving all kinds of fun little appetizers: cheese, olives, breadsticks, little roll-up something-or-anothers, pork, smoked salmon antipasto, and a variety of other tasty treats. It was delicious, and very fun due to our little group of buddies who went together. Gooooood times. Intercontinental, you're in my future.

Don't forget, there's no tipping... which makes these nights out SUPER reasonable. I'm on the hunt for new ideas... all you expats, feel free to post suggestions.
